April Birchbox

On days that I get home and see a box by my front door I always think “what is that?” When I realize it is my Birchbox and I get super excited! If you read my March Birchbox post you know that you have the option to pick a sample or pick the curated box each month. I rarely ever pick the curated box, but when I saw it this month I decided to go for it. There were quite a few samples that I already knew that I liked.  I also added on some “extras.”

First off can we just admire how pretty this month’s box is. So what DID I get this month?

I don’t use liquid eyeliner very often, and I probably even have one of these in my drawer already.  It’s the price you pay for getting a box of makeup and skincare each month. I’ve received the jane iredale stain in a previous box and really liked it.  It’s one of those products that changes color when you put it on, but it’s really natural. They claim it’s based on your body pH, but it’s really not. It’s all because of a red dye (Red 27) that changes to a pink color when it comes into contact with moisture, like on your lips and skin.  Sorry to burst the bubble! I still like it though. I typically like brightening scrubs, so I’m interested to try this one. I’m really excited to try the Clarins cream because I only use creams with SPF during the day. Gotta protect your skin from those rays! I have received the Davises shampoo and conditioner in a previous box, and I really liked it.  I think it’s really odd that the shampoo is so large compared to the conditioner. Who uses that shampoo to conditioner ratio??

Every month you can add on certain items and they ship for free with your box. I really wanted to get a couple items that I really loved from a couple of my previous boxes, so I added those on. My add-on items were the Vasanti Brighten UP! Face Scrub and the Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm. I really liked both of these products and had used up what I had, and I wanted more!
