5 Facts of the Week – May 13th
Alright ladies and gents, here are your five facts for the week!
- This one had me laughing. When I saw the highlight at the gym, I knew I had to Google it when I got to work. This man allegedly stole a laptop and some other items, and then did a victory dance that was caught on film. Police saw it a couple days later while scrolling through security footage, and he was later arrested. Watch the video HERE.
- Qantas tested the towing capacity of the Tesla Model X at the Melbourne Airport, but pulling a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. I don’t recall seeing anything about whether this aircraft was fully fueled, but I guarantee it was not fully loaded. Regardless, it’s pretty impressive that a Tesla can pull and aircraft. You can check out the article and video HERE.
- Has anyone else heard of the Tazmanian giant freshwater lobster? I heard about it from a brief mention on a podcast and I had to research it. They can live to be 60 years old, and apparently it can grow to be the same size as a medium-sized dog! I don’t know about you, but if I was near my local creek and saw a 13 lb lobster scurrying around, I would probably freak out. You can read more about how they are trying to preserve this species HERE.
- Newly released pages from Ann Frank’s diary are making a buzz. This is one place that I was honestly bummed I didn’t get to go when I was in Amsterdam. I didn’t realize that you have to buy tickets online MONTHS in advance to be able to get in. Needless to say, I didn’t have a ticket. Hopefully there will be a next time and I’ll be more prepared. Apparently these two pages talk about sex and prostitution. You can check out the article from NPR HERE.
- I’m still currently on my no TV for 30 days challenge, so I haven’t been keeping up. I guess I’m actually going to miss it, or does the Royal Wedding allow for a TV pass? Anyway, for those of us that didn’t watch the Royal Wedding, you can catch some updates HERE.
