Third Love Bras, Worth it?
It’s not love in my book. I desperately wanted to love Third Love, mostly because I really needed some new bras. You see, I spend all my efforts buying workout clothing, so sometimes my everyday clothing suffers.
If you don’t know what Third Love is, it’s a company that sells bras/underwear. They have a fit finder that is supposed to help you find the best fit based on the size and shape of your breasts and how your current bra fits. I took the fit finder and it determined that I am wearing the correct size, and then it recommended certain styles for me based on my information.
My friend raved about Third Love for months, maybe even over a year, before I decided to try them out. Everyone seems to love them, you hear stores about how they are the most comfortable bra they’ve ever tried. Maybe it’s just me, but that was not my experience.
So, how it works, is that you take a little quiz to determine what your best fit and style will be. This is based off of size, shape, and how your current bra fits.
I tried two different styles
24/7 Classic Contour Plunge Bra
Here’s why I didn’t like them:
It is pretty, not sexy, but pretty for an everyday T-shirt bra. It was just so incredibly uncomfortable. The straps were decent, the cups were decent, but the underwire seriously dug into my sternum. Maybe it’s because I have a smaller chest, or the underwire is closer than my other bras where they meet, but it was so uncomfortable I had to change my bra before the day was up. I was also a little disappointed that they don’t offer a padded version of this, I wouldn’t let that be my deciding factor, but it would have been nice. Just because it didn’t work for me, it may work for you, so give it a try. If the underwire wasn’t digging in, I would have 100% kept this bra.
24/7 Classic Contour Plunge Bra–
Once again maybe it’s just me, but for the life of my I cannot figure out why they thought putting the seam for the removable “padding” on the inside of the cup would be comfortable. The seam is itchy and irritating on the skin when you’re wearing it, and it lands in a really unfortunate place on the body. Also, the amount of “padding” is kind of a joke (but that’s personal preference). Besides the seam being so uncomfortable on my skin, the rest of the bra was decent and fit pretty well. I didn’t notice any discomfort with the underwire on this bra, but I couldn’t stand to wear it all day, which was really unfortunate. If they got rid of the “removable padding” feature, meaning that there wasn’t a seam on the inside of the bra, I’d consider trying this one again.
Both of these were really disappointing to me because every review I ready said that they could wear them all day, they were so comfortable, they couldn’t even tell they had them on. That’s what I was looking for, and instead I found the opposite.
Thankfully, Third Love has great customer service. When I was trying to return my items I was using the chat feature and Michele (works there) informed me that she also had the same issue with the classic style bra, and that they were changing the style of the plunge bra, but she wasn’t sure which colors had already been updated, and which hadn’t.
I decided to return to the bras I had purchased in hope that the two plunge style bras I was about to try would be the updated style without all the seams. Unfortunately when I received the two new colors, they were the same old style with the seams on the inside of the cup pad. I had to return the items, which was incredibly easy. I might try a couple other styles, or I’ll try again in a month or two, to see if the above plunge style has been updated.
So are they worth it? I’ve heard so many people RAVE about these bras. Because it was so incredibly easy to return all 4 bras I ended up trying, and their customer service was so helpful, I’d say it’s 100% worth trying. If they don’t fit or they don’t work out, they are easily returnable. If you end up loving them, then it’s great.
