Target C9 Training Shorts Review
I’ve been on the hunt for years for a pair of compression shorts that don’t ride up. I don’t know what it is about my body, but everything rides up. Everything. I’ve bought many a pair through the years, with high hopes, only to be let down, yet again!
I do have one pair from the brand Lucy (which no longer exists). I think the only reason they didn’t ride up is because they had little grippy strips on the inside seam on the leg. But alas, I can’t purchase those again.
I decided to try out the C9 brand shorts from Target, because why not? They are reasonably priced, so I figured I’d give them a try.
I bought the:
Women’s Training Shorts 7″ – C9 Champion® Black
These shorts are $19.99 and come in black, which I purchased, and a gray that almost looks a little blueish. I really wanted to try the gray, but I did in store pick up and my store only had black. I would say these shorts are true to their sizing chart, they are compressive but not too tight, squatproof if you buy the correct size, high waisted, side pockets, and best of all, they did NOT ride up! I think it was mostly because of the 7″ inseam length. I wore them around my house all day, and I didn’t have any problems with them. You could wear them for a workout, or even casually. “Bike shorts” are in these days! What more could you ask for from a pair of shorts, besides a fun bright color 😉
The fabric of these shorts felt smooth and comfortable. They are made of 85% polyester/15% spandex.
Women’s Everyday High Waisted Boy Shorts 4″ – C9 Champion®
These shorts are $16.99 and come in black and a heather gray. I also tried the black in these shorts. I could tell as soon as I put these shorts on that they were not going to stay put. I wore then around for less tan 10 minutes and I knew that they were not for me. They rode up, bummer. Otherwise I think they are a decent short, true to the size chart, and squatproof. However, I just can’t deal with shorts that ride up, so back they go!
The fabric of these shorts felt a little more “cottony” than the Training shorts (even though there’s no cotton in them). They are made of 88% polyester/12% spandex.
Overall I think both of these shorts are pretty great for the price. If you don’t have issues with shorts riding up, or you don’t mind pulling them down every 20 seconds, both could be great options for you! What do you think, are you into compression shorts and the “bike shorts” trend? If so, which ones are your favorite?
