Every Man Jack Deodorant Review
Sometimes I get these ideas in my head. You know I’ve already tried at least 7 brands of natural deodorant (more if you count different ones within a brand). You can read my original blog post about testing those HERE. Then I gave you an update on my former favorite deodorant, which you can read HERE, and then I tested Native Deodorant, which you can read HERE.
I’ve really enjoyed using Native, but I wanted to try another. What can I say, I am who I am. I’ve seen Every Man Jack deodorant at Target, and I’ve wanted to try it for a while. However, my target didn’t have any scents that I thought would be suitable for a female.
The two I thought would be decent to try, and therefore I purchased were:
I wanted to try the Signature Mint scent, but got the Charcoal one instead. In hindsight, I wish I’d gotten the Mint one.
The Pros:
- Sold at Target (it’s easy accessible/available to most people)
- Reasonably Priced ($8)
- Variety of options in scents
- Aluminum (antiperspirant) free
So about the scents…the Citrus was a good choice. It smelled more like something a girl would prefer vs. a scent a guy would prefer. I’ve tried charcoal deodorants in the past (Primally Pure) and they smelled great, however, this one smelled like a men’s cologne. I gave it to my male coworker to try out, because I honestly just could not wear something that smelled like this. I told him I expected a full report with his thoughts on the deodorant as a whole, but with regards to the scent… “it smells like a campfire.”
The Cons:
- Texture (the Citrus was smooth like an old school clear deodorant, and the Charcoal was more like toothpaste). I thought the texture was fine, because I was using the Citrus deodorant. My coworker was not a fan of the texture of the Charcoal deodorant.
- Scents (This is a personal opinion but they were very strong in the container. I swear I could not smell the Citrus AT ALL once I put it on, which seemed odd. My coworker said “I smelled like a campfire all day,” so that one didn’t dissipate like the Citrus.)
- As with any natural deodorant, there are ingredients that can be irritating to skin. It’s hard to know what ingredients are irritating without trying them (If you need some tips on starting to use a natural deodorant read THIS POST)
“I think the charcoal one has baking soda. I think it works pretty well.”
“I feel like the scent lingers way more than any other deodorant i’ve ever used though. I’m thinking it’s pretty high on the, hit me in the face all day long scale.”
The first day that I used it, I kind of noticed that I smelled a little bit of a similar smell as I started noticing with the Lume deodorant (which is why I stopped using it). I put a little more on, but when I woke up the next morning, I felt like I smelled bad. I’m not about that, so my test run was pretty short lived.
Anyway, long story short. I’ve never used this deodorant again, and that’s my final answer.
